Ireland Work Visa / Permit (Long Stay 'D' — Information Only)
Information only — Irish work routes need an employment permit / approval first, then a long stay 'D' work visa. SureshotVisa does NOT process or provide Ireland work visas, employment permits or the Atypical Working Scheme.
No visa is ever guaranteed — the final decision always rests with the Ireland visa authority. We make sure your file is presented at its strongest.
SureshotVisa does NOT provide, process or file Ireland work visas, employment permits or Atypical Working Scheme permissions. This page is purely informational. We do not collect fees, book appointments, or submit applications for any Ireland work category. Please consult the Irish employer, the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (enterprise.gov.ie), the Irish Immigration Service (irishimmigration.ie), or a licensed work-immigration specialist for any work-visa requirement.

Good to know before you apply
Rules that apply to every Ireland visa type — worth a quick read so nothing trips up your file.
- 1This page is INFORMATION ONLY — SureshotVisa does not process Ireland work visas, employment permits or Atypical Working Scheme permissions.
- 2Work in Ireland requires an Irish employer and a DETE employment permit (or AWS approval) BEFORE the visa can be applied for.
- 3Visa-required nationals then apply via AVATS for a 'D' (over 90 days) or 'C' employment (14–90 days) visa.
- 4Long-stay workers must register with the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) / immigration after arrival.
- 5Verify all requirements only on official Irish government sources (enterprise.gov.ie, irishimmigration.ie) or with a licensed work-immigration specialist.
Who Can Apply
- Indian nationals with a confirmed job offer from an Irish employer who holds (or obtains) the required Employment Permit
- Critical Skills / General Employment Permit holders, and intra-company transferees
- Specialised, highly-skilled short-term workers approved under the Atypical Working Scheme (generally under 90 days)
Not eligible under this visa:
- Anyone without a valid employment permit / approval or Atypical Working Scheme permission
- Roles on the ineligible categories of employment list (for employment permits)
- Short business trips — use the short stay 'C' Business Visa instead (which we do process)
- Tourism, family visits or study — see the respective Ireland visa guides
What it costs
Government & VFS fees
Paid directly to Ireland / VFS — these are not our service fee, and we never mark them up.
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Ireland work visa / permit fee | Varies |
SureshotVisa does not collect any fee for Ireland work visas because we do not provide this service. Employment permit fees (DETE), the Atypical Working Scheme fee (€250), and the visa fee are all set by the Irish authorities — verify them only on official Irish government sources.
What to gather
Documents required
Having a document isn't the same as presenting it right — that's the part we handle.

5 items- Confirmed job offer / signed employment contract from an Irish employerRequired
Indicative only — exact requirements are set by the Irish authorities.
- Employment Permit (DETE) or Atypical Working Scheme Letter of ApprovalRequired
Generally required before the work visa can be applied for. A copy must accompany the visa application.
- Current passport (valid for at least the permission sought)Required
- Qualification / registration documents as required by the role

The journey.
4 steps from intake to approval. Curved spine on the right shows the natural pace — never as linear as government sites pretend.
- 01
Secure an Irish job offer
A confirmed job offer / employment contract from an Irish employer is the starting point. SureshotVisa does not arrange jobs or sponsorships.
- 02
Obtain the permit or AWS approval
The employer/employee obtains an Employment Permit from DETE, or (for short specialised work under 90 days) an Atypical Working Scheme Letter of Approval — applied for from outside Ireland.
- 03
Apply for the work visa via AVATS
Once the permit/approval is granted, visa-required nationals apply for a long stay 'D' work visa (or 'C' employment visa for 14–90 day contracts) through AVATS — not through SureshotVisa. Allow at least 8 weeks.
- 04
Register with immigration after arrival
Long-stay workers (16+) staying over 90 days must register with the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) / immigration after arrival. Consult the Irish authorities or a licensed work-immigration specialist.
What works
3 levers that flip a borderline case.
- Be cautious of agents promising guaranteed Ireland work visas or jobs — a work visa requires a genuine Irish employer plus a DETE employment permit or Atypical Working Scheme approval.
- For short business travel (meetings, conferences), use the short stay 'C' Business Visa instead — that is a service SureshotVisa does provide.
- Check that the role is not on the ineligible categories of employment list before relying on an employment permit route.
What kills cases
Top 3 refusal triggers we see.
- 1No valid employment permit / Atypical Working Scheme approval
- 2Role on the ineligible categories of employment list
- 3Misrepresentation of the purpose of stay, or using a short-stay visa to attempt to work

No. SureshotVisa does NOT provide, process or file Ireland work visas, employment permits or Atypical Working Scheme permissions. This page is informational only. We do not collect fees or book appointments for any work category. Please use the official Irish government sources (enterprise.gov.ie, irishimmigration.ie) or a licensed work-immigration specialist.
No. A short stay 'C' tourist visa does NOT permit any work. A 'C' business visa only allows work that starts and ends within a single 14-day period. Anything more requires an Employment Permit (or Atypical Working Scheme approval) and the corresponding work visa.
At a high level: a confirmed job offer from an Irish employer, an Employment Permit from the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (or an Atypical Working Scheme Letter of Approval for short specialised work), then a long stay 'D' work visa (or 'C' employment visa for 14–90 day contracts) applied for via AVATS, followed by GNIB/immigration registration after arrival. Exact requirements are set by the Irish authorities.
