Canada Visitor Visa from India

A Canada Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) lets you visit family, travel, or attend events in Canada. IRCC refuses a large share of Indian applications over funds and weak ties — most of it avoidable. We build a file that answers the officer's real concerns. The final decision always rests with IRCC.

What a strong Canada file needs

The documents and the story behind them — built to answer the officer's real questions.

  • Proof of funds

6 months of bank statements showing a stable balance — not a sudden lump sum. Any large deposit must have a clear, documented source. Add ITRs, salary slips or business proof so income and savings line up.

  • Strong ties to India

Job/leave letter, business ownership, property, family dependents — evidence you have compelling reasons to return. This is the single biggest factor in TRV approvals for Indians.

  • Invitation letter (if visiting family)

A properly worded invitation from your Canadian host with their status (PR/citizen), relationship, your stay plan, and who pays. We draft this so it matches — not contradicts — your file.

  • Purpose of visit

A clear cover letter explaining why you're going, for how long, and your day-by-day plan. Vague purpose is a common refusal trigger.

  • Travel history

Past visas and stamps (especially US/UK/Schengen) strengthen your case. First-time travellers need a stronger funds + ties story to compensate.

Why Canada visas get refused — and how we fix it

Most refusals come down to a handful of avoidable gaps. Here's what to get right.

"Purpose of visit" not satisfied

The officer isn't convinced the trip is genuine or temporary. Fix: a specific, dated itinerary + cover letter + matching invitation.

Insufficient or unexplained funds

Low balance, or a big deposit just before applying with no source. Fix: 6-month stable statements + a documented source-of-funds note.

Weak ties to home country

IRCC isn't satisfied you'll leave Canada. Fix: employment, dependents, property and financial ties evidenced clearly.

Family / personal circumstances

Immediate family already in Canada can be read as immigration intent. Fix: a strong return-incentive narrative and ties evidence.

How the Canada application works

  1. 1

    Identify your visa type

Use IRCC's 'Come to Canada' online tool (canada.ca/immigration) to confirm the right visa category, required documents, processing times, and fees for your situation.

  2. 2

Gather documents and submit online via IRCC Portal

Complete your visa application on the IRCC Portal, upload all supporting documents, and pay the IRCC application fee + biometrics fee (if first time).

  3. 3

Wait for the Biometric Instruction Letter (BIL)

After submission, IRCC emails you a BIL — this confirms your biometric requirement. You must use THIS BIL for THIS application.

  4. 4

    Book VAC appointment via AMS

As of Feb 21, 2026, appointments are booked through the Appointment Management System (AMS). From Feb 24, 2026 you must upload your BIL to schedule. Each family member needs their own appointment.

  5. 5

    Visit the VAC for biometrics

Attend your VAC appointment. Staff capture fingerprints + digital photo. Submit any documents not uploaded online. Pay VFS service charges. Collect your receipt with tracking number.

  6. 6

    Track your application

Use the tracking ID from the VAC receipt on VFS website, web chat, email, or helpline (1800-266-8858). VFS tracking shows passport LOCATION only, not processing stage. Online applications: check status on IRCC.

  7. 7

Wait for the Passport Request Letter from IRCC

DO NOT submit your passport until you receive this letter from IRCC. Each family member receives their own letter.

  8. 8

    Submit passport through VAC

Submit original passport + IRCC passport request letter + biometrics sticker copy + VFS consent form. Effective Oct 9, 2023: Only applicant, parents (for minors), or 1 appointed family member can submit.

  9. 9

    Collect your passport and decision

VAC emails you when passport is ready. Collect in person or by courier. Check visa details immediately: validity dates, entries, purpose.

Canada visitor visa FAQs

How much bank balance do I need for a Canada visitor visa from India?

There's no official minimum, but you should show enough to cover your trip plus stability over the last 6 months. A steady balance and clear source of funds matter far more than a large last-minute deposit — unexplained deposits are a frequent refusal reason. We assess your exact case in the ₹499 report.

Can you guarantee my Canada visa?

No — and you should be wary of anyone who does. Approval rests entirely with IRCC. What we control is the quality of the file: funds presentation, ties, invitation, purpose. We prepare and submit the strongest version of your case.

What are GCMS notes and do I need them?

If you were refused, GCMS notes are the officer's actual internal reasoning behind the decision. They reveal the real refusal ground so the reapplication targets it. See our GCMS/CAIPS notes service.

Do I need an invitation letter?

Only if you're visiting family or friends. It's not mandatory, but a well-drafted invitation that matches your file strengthens a family-visit application. We draft it for you.
