Norway routes family and friend visits through UDI's own portal. The host in Norway usually files a Sponsor for visitors form first, then you complete the application at selvbetjening.udi.no, and the cover letter the portal emails you is mandatory at the VFS appointment. The host's commitment of NOK 500 per day of your stay has to be evidenced, not just stated, and a claimed family relationship needs the marriage or birth certificate behind it. The fee is €90 for an adult and €45 for a child of 6 to 12, and the Embassy quotes 15 calendar days from receiving a complete file, extendable to 45 in cases referred to UDI.

Embassy fees are set in EUR by UDI — the INR charged at VFS varies with the daily exchange rate. VFS service and courier fees are fixed in INR. Family members of EU/EEA nationals, pupils/students/teachers on educational trips, and researchers are exempt from the embassy fee (the fee must be paid up front in the UDI portal and refunded at appointment). All fees are non-refundable regardless of outcome. EU/EEA family members are EXEMPT from the visa fee — pay up front via UDI portal and request refund at the embassy appointment.

No — it's optional if you can prove minimum NOK 500/day/person yourself via bank statement (last 3 months) or wage specifications (last 6 months). But if your finances are tight or you want to strengthen the case, the host's sponsorship form helps significantly.
Spouse, partner, cohabitant, child under 21, child over 21 financially supported by the parent, parent financially supported by the child. You must be travelling WITH or to JOIN an EU/EEA national in Norway.
Yes — there's no restriction on who picks you up. What matters is what's documented for the visa: the invitation letter, host's residence proof, and your relationship documents. Airport pickup is not part of the visa requirements.
Up to 90 days per 180-day rolling window across the entire Schengen area. So you cannot stay 90 days in Norway and then move to Germany for another 90 days — the 90-day budget is Schengen-wide.
Mention the event in your cover letter and attach any invitation/programme. If the wedding involves your own marriage or fiancé(e), apply for the Family Establishment Permit instead — a tourist/family visit visa is the wrong route.
