All UK visa fees are set in GBP by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) and paid online during the GOV.UK application. The INR amount depends on the GBP/INR exchange rate on payment day. Additional costs: biometrics and VFS service charges at the Visa Application Centre, optional priority/super-priority services, TB test (if required), and document translation fees. Visit gov.uk/check-uk-visa to confirm Indian citizens need a Standard Visitor visa (answer: yes).

Go to gov.uk/standard-visitor/apply-standard-visitor-visa. Create an account, fill the form (~80 questions), save progress as you go.

Book biometrics appointment at VFS Global India
After payment, book a slot at your nearest VFS UK centre (Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Cochin, Pune, Jalandhar).

Attend VFS appointment
Bring passport, printed confirmation, photograph, supporting documents. Fingerprints + facial photo taken. Passport returned same day.

How many months of bank statements does the UK need?
Usually the last 6 months. UKVI wants to see a stable balance consistent with your declared income — not a large deposit that appeared right before you applied. We review your statements and flag risks in the ₹499 report.
What is the 'genuine visitor' test?
UKVI must be satisfied you genuinely intend to visit and leave at the end of your stay, can fund the trip, and won't work illegally. Strong ties to India and credible finances are how you pass it.
Do I need a sponsor?
Not necessarily. If you fund the trip yourself with sufficient consistent funds, no sponsor is needed. If a UK relative supports you, a complete sponsor pack helps.
