The Spain Tourist Visa (Schengen Type C) is for Indian passport holders visiting Spain — and the wider Schengen area — for tourism, sightseeing, or non-business leisure. Spain is one of the Schengen countries with no internal border controls, so a visa issued for Spain is valid across all of them. In India, Spain does NOT use VFS Global: applications are submitted through BLS International on behalf of the Embassy of Spain (New Delhi) and the Consulate General of Spain (Mumbai).

Complete the Schengen form
Fill the Schengen visa application form (Type C) in English, in block letters, and sign it. Spain is the country to apply to only if it is your main destination.
Assemble documents
Gather passport, photos, travel + accommodation reservations, €30,000 insurance, bank statement, ITR, and income/employment proofs.
Book a BLS appointment
Spain is NOT on VFS. Book your appointment with BLS International (blsspainvisa.com) at the centre serving your state of residence — New Delhi (Embassy) or Mumbai (Consulate) jurisdiction.
Submit in person + biometrics
Attend the BLS centre in person, submit the physical file, give fingerprints and photo (biometrics), and pay the €90 fee plus BLS service charge in INR.
Track + collect
Track via your BLS reference number. Standard processing is 15 calendar days; collect your passport at the centre or via courier.

Yes — a Schengen visa issued by Spain lets you travel across all Schengen countries (France, Italy, Germany, Portugal, etc.) for the validity and stay allowance printed on the sticker. Spain should just be your MAIN destination (most nights).
No. Unlike most Schengen countries, Spain's visa applications in India are handled by BLS International on behalf of the Embassy of Spain (New Delhi) and the Consulate General of Spain (Mumbai). You book and submit at a BLS Spain centre, not a VFS centre.
Standard processing is 15 calendar days from submission. In peak season (April–September) or if the consulate asks for additional documents, it can extend to 30–45 days. Apply at least 3 weeks before travel.
At the earliest 6 months before travel and at the latest 15 calendar days before. Applications outside this window are not accepted.
You must show you can fund your stay. Spain expects sufficient, stable funds in your original 3-month bank statement to cover accommodation, daily expenses, and return travel, supported by 2 years of ITR. A sudden large deposit just before applying is a red flag.
Yes — travel medical insurance with minimum €30,000 coverage, valid across all Schengen states for the entire trip including repatriation, is mandatory and checked at submission. Without it the file is rejected.
