Spain's work authorisation is a National (Type D) route that is employer-driven — the Spanish employer must obtain a work authorisation from Spain's immigration authority before the worker can apply for the corresponding visa. Information only: the Spanish employer applies for and obtains work authorisation from Spain's immigration authority (Oficina de Extranjería) before the worker can apply.
Worker applies for the Type D work visa
Information only: once authorisation is approved, the worker applies for the national work visa at the Spanish consulate (via BLS International in India).
Travel + residence card
Information only: after arrival in Spain, the worker registers and obtains the residence/work card (TIE).
