Spain Study Visa 2026 | Complete Guide for Indian Students
The money, honestly
What you spend.
What simply stays yours.
Most agents blur these two numbers together. The visa asks you to show funds — that money remains yours to live on in Spain. What you actually spend on the visa process is far smaller.
You spend
visa process, one-time- Visa fee (€80)≈₹7,200
- BLS service charge≈₹1,500–2,500
- Health insurance, 1 year (no co-pay, Spain-authorised)≈₹25,000–45,000
- Apostilles + sworn Spanish translations (PCC, medical, academics)≈₹8,000–18,000
- Medical fitness certificate≈₹500–2,000
- Travel to BLS centre≈₹2,000–6,000
Visa process typically under ₹2 lakh
Our filing service is charged separately (₹24,999–₹34,999, 18% GST included).
You show
stays your money≈₹7.9 lakh/year
€600/month (100% of IPREM) → ≈€7,200 for a 12-month course
Bank balance, education loan or parental sponsorship — shown as available for each month of stay, not paid to anyone. Sponsors submit ITRs and bank statements; large unexplained deposits are a classic red flag.
This is proof of funds, not a fee — you live on it in Spain.
Excludes tuition, the ≈₹7.9 lakh funds you SHOW (stays your money to live on), flights and living costs; the TIE residence card fee (small, ≈€17) is paid in Spain after arrival.

Why Spain refuses student files
Funds below the IPREM line or sudden unexplained deposits parked in the account just before applying
Study plan that does not fit the profile — long gaps or a course downgrade with no convincing explanation raises genuine-student doubts
Defective paperwork: PCC/medical not apostilled and sworn-translated, or an insurance policy with co-payments

Spain student-visa FAQs
How much money do I need to show for Spain?
€600 per month of stay (100% of IPREM) — ≈€7,200 for a year, ≈₹7.9 lakh. It is shown, not spent: it stays your money and funds your living costs in Spain.
Can I work on a Spanish student visa?
Yes — up to 30 hours/week without a separate permit, as long as work does not clash with your class schedule. Full study-work balance is checked at renewal.
Do I need IELTS for Spain?
There is no blanket IELTS rule from the visa side — universities set language requirements (Spanish or English by course). The consulate checks that the course credibly fits your background.
What happens right after I land?
For courses over 6 months, apply for the TIE student residence card within 30 days of arrival — that card, not the visa sticker, is your long-term ID in Spain.
