Secure admission and pay tuition
The admission certificate from the Hungarian institution is the anchor document; keep the tuition-payment receipt — it's a mandatory enclosure (Stipendium winners attach the scholarship certificate instead).

Apostilled birth certificate and latest school certificates, police clearance, CV, signed motivation letter, and the voluntary-exit declaration required by the checklist.

What is Stipendium Hungaricum and does it skip the visa?
It's the Hungarian government's fully-funded scholarship — tuition waiver, monthly stipend, housing support and insurance — with applications closing around mid-January. Winners still apply for the same study residence permit; the scholarship certificate simply replaces tuition and funds proofs.
How many hours can students work in Hungary?
Up to 30 hours per week during the study term, and full-time for up to 90 days a year outside the term — that's the current official rule for study-permit holders.
How much bank balance does Hungary want?
Hungary publishes no fixed amount — the file must show 'sufficient resources' for living, housing, healthcare and return travel, usually via a sponsor's 6-month statements plus a support declaration. The money is evidence, not a payment.
Can I stay in Hungary after my course ends?
Graduates holding a valid study permit can apply for a residence permit for job-searching or entrepreneurship, valid up to 9 months. That is the factual option — it is not a work guarantee or a PR promise.
