The money, honestly

What you spend.
What simply stays yours.

Most agents blur these two numbers together. The visa asks you to show funds — that money remains yours to live on in United Kingdom. What you actually spend on the visa process is far smaller.

You spend

visa process, one-time
  • Visa application fee (£558)≈₹71,400
  • Immigration Health Surcharge — £776/visa year (1-yr master's visa ≈£1,164; 3-yr bachelor's ≈£2,716)≈₹1,49,000 (master's) to ≈₹3,48,000 (bachelor's)
  • TB test at approved clinic≈₹2,500–4,000
  • Optional priority decision (£500)≈₹64,000 (optional)
  • Travel to VFS centre + optional VAC services≈₹1,000–5,000
Realistic total≈₹2.3–4.3 lakh depending on course length (IHS scales with visa years)

Our filing service is charged separately (₹24,999–₹34,999, 18% GST included).

You show

stays your money

≈₹17.6 lakh (London) / ≈₹13.5 lakh (outside London), + tuition balance

£13,761 (London) or £10,539 (rest of UK) for 9 months' living costs — £1,529/£1,171 per month — plus first-year tuition balance not yet paid

Bank balance (yours or parents') or education-loan letter, held for 28 consecutive days ending within 31 days of applying; large sudden deposits invite scrutiny

This is proof of funds, not a fee — you live on it in United Kingdom.

Excludes tuition, the maintenance funds you SHOW (that money stays yours to live on), flights and living costs. The Immigration Health Surcharge is the single biggest spend — £776 (≈₹99,000) per visa year — which is why a UK application usually crosses ₹2 lakh even before any consultancy fee.

Step by step

Admission to boarding,
one clear path.

  1. Step 1

    Get your offer and CAS

Accept an unconditional offer, pay the deposit; the university issues your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). Apply within 6 months of receiving it.

  2. Step 2

    Line up the money

Hold the maintenance amount (£13,761 London / £10,539 elsewhere) plus any unpaid first-year tuition for 28 consecutive days ending within 31 days of your application.

  3. Step 3

    Take the TB test

Book at a Home Office-approved clinic in India; the certificate is mandatory for stays over 6 months and stays valid for 6 months.

  4. Step 4

    Apply online and pay

Complete the gov.uk form up to 6 months before your course starts; pay the £558 fee plus the Immigration Health Surcharge (£776 per visa year).

  5. Step 5

    Biometrics at VFS Global

Give fingerprints and photo at your chosen UK visa application centre and upload/submit your supporting documents.

  6. Step 6

    Credibility interview if called

UKVI may interview you on course choice, funding and post-study plans — answer consistently with your application.

  7. Step 7

    Decision in about 3 weeks

Check your eVisa/entry vignette details carefully; travel no earlier than your visa start date.

Why United Kingdom refuses student files

Maintenance funds not held for the full 28 days, or large unexplained deposits

Failed credibility ('genuine student') assessment — weak course rationale or unexplained study gaps

United Kingdom student-visa FAQs

Can I bring my spouse or children on a Student visa?

Only postgraduate research students (PhD/research-based master's) and government-scholarship students can bring dependants. Taught master's and bachelor's students cannot — this rule has applied since January 2024.

What exactly is the 28-day rule?

The full required amount must sit in the account for 28 consecutive days with the balance never dipping below it, and the 28-day period must end within 31 days of the date you apply. A one-day dip restarts the clock.

Is IELTS compulsory?

Not always. For degree-level courses, universities can assess your English themselves (many accept alternatives). A UKVI-approved SELT is compulsory only for below-degree courses. Follow exactly what your CAS states.

Will I get my IHS money back if the visa is refused?

Yes — the Immigration Health Surcharge is automatically refunded on refusal or withdrawal. The £558 visa fee is not refunded.
