Indian Visa from the USA

Whether you hold a US passport and are visiting India for tourism or business, or you're an Indian-origin American who now needs an OCI card or an Indian visa to see family, we handle the whole application for you. US nationals are eligible for India's e-Visa, so most trips are approved online in days — we make sure the file is right the first time. The final decision always rests with the Indian government.

Which one are you?

Two very different routes into India — we handle both. Not sure? The finder above settles it in two taps.

Indian e-Visa

You hold a foreign passport

  • Tourism, business or medical trips
  • Applied online before you fly
  • 30-day, 1-year or 5-year options
  • Approved in days — per trip or multi-year

OCI Card

You're of Indian origin, now a foreign citizen

  • Lifelong, multiple-entry — no visa each time
  • No police reporting on long stays
  • Must surrender the Indian passport first
  • Best if you visit family in India often

The OCI path, step by step

If you took US citizenship, this is the route to lifelong, visa-free entry — and we manage every step, including the mandatory passport surrender.

Step 1

Took US citizenship

You're no longer an Indian citizen — India has no dual citizenship.

Step 2

Surrender the Indian passport

Mandatory — you get a Surrender Certificate. We handle this step for you.

Step 3

OCI card issued

Lifelong, visa-free entry to India. Done once, and you're set for life.

Indian visa from USA — FAQs

Can US citizens get an Indian visa online?

Yes. US passport holders are eligible for India's e-Visa (e-Tourist, e-Business and e-Medical), applied for online before travel. We complete and file it for you on the official portal and confirm the current fee for US nationals in your free assessment.

I'm a US citizen born in India — do I need a visa or an OCI card?

If you acquired US citizenship you are no longer an Indian citizen (India doesn't allow dual nationality), so you need either an Indian visa for each visit or, better for frequent visits, an OCI card, which gives lifelong multiple-entry access. You must surrender your Indian passport and obtain a Surrender Certificate before an OCI application can be processed — we handle that too.

How fast can I get an Indian e-Visa from the USA?

e-Visas are typically approved within a few working days, but apply at least a week before travel to be safe. We pre-check your photo and passport scan to the portal's exact specifications so it isn't delayed or rejected on a technicality.

Do I apply for the Indian visa myself, or do you?

We prepare and file the whole application for you on the official Indian government portal (https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/) and pay the government fee, so nothing is mis-entered — the most common cause of delays and rejections. You just approve the details and travel.

What's the difference between an OCI card and an Indian visa?

An Indian visa authorises a specific visit and must be obtained each time (or as a multi-year e-Visa). An OCI card is for foreign nationals of Indian origin and gives lifelong, multiple-entry access without a visa. If you're of Indian origin and visit often, OCI is usually the better long-term choice.

Can I hold an Indian passport and a foreign passport at the same time?

No. India does not allow dual citizenship. Once you acquire another country's citizenship you cease to be an Indian citizen and must surrender your Indian passport and obtain a Surrender Certificate. That certificate is mandatory before an OCI application can be processed — we handle the surrender and the OCI together.

Can you guarantee my Indian visa or OCI?

No — and be wary of anyone who does. The decision rests entirely with the Indian government / Bureau of Immigration. What we control is the quality of your file: correct category, photo and passport specs, and complete supporting documents, so it's assessed at its strongest.
