The Indonesian e-Visa on Arrival (e-VoA, index B1) explicitly covers family and social visits, so Indian citizens visiting relatives or friends in Indonesia use the same online route as tourists. You apply at evisa.imigrasi.go.id, pay IDR 500,000 (≈ ₹2,900) by card, and receive the e-VoA by email for a 30-day stay that can be extended once for a further 30 days. An invitation is not required for the e-VoA, but carrying your host's details helps at immigration.

The e-VoA fee is a flat IDR 500,000 (≈ ₹2,900 / ≈ USD 33) regardless of nationality and is NON-REFUNDABLE if you don't travel or are refused entry. Payment is online by Visa, Mastercard or JCB and must be completed within ~120 minutes of starting. A one-time 30-day extension costs a further IDR 500,000, paid inside Indonesia. SureshotVisa's professional service fee for preparing and lodging your e-VoA is separate and quoted upfront. 1. Check eligibility & passport
Confirm your Indian passport is valid 6+ months beyond arrival with a blank page. Indian citizens are eligible for the B1 e-VoA for tourism, family visits, business meetings and transit.
2. Apply online
Go to evisa.imigrasi.go.id, choose 'Visa on Arrival', create an account and complete the e-VoA application. Upload a clear scan of your passport bio page and a passport-style photo.
3. Pay the visa fee
Pay IDR 500,000 online with a Visa, Mastercard or JCB card. Finish payment within ~120 minutes of starting, or you must begin again.
4. Receive the e-VoA by email
Once approved, the e-VoA PDF is emailed to you (usually within a couple of days). Print it and keep a copy on your phone.
5. Show it on arrival
At the Indonesian airport/seaport immigration counter, present the printed e-VoA with your passport. The officer stamps your 30-day entry.
6. Extend if needed
To stay longer, visit a local immigration office before day 30 and pay IDR 500,000 for a single 30-day extension (60 days total maximum).

Yes. The B1 e-Visa on Arrival explicitly covers family and social visits as well as tourism, so you use the same online application at evisa.imigrasi.go.id. It gives a 30-day stay, extendable once to 60 days.
No, an invitation letter is not required for the e-VoA. It can still be useful to carry your host's details and, for longer stays, an invitation, in case the immigration officer asks about the purpose of your visit.
