- 1Applicants must submit IN PERSON at the VFS Global Montenegro Visa Application Centre — third-party / agent submission is NOT allowed.
- 2Passport validity: the travel document in which the visa is entered must be valid for at least 3 months longer than the validity period of the visa.
- 3Photo specification: One recent colour photograph, 35×45 mm (3.5×4.5 cm), white background, no border, sharp focus, face taking up 70–80% of the frame, looking directly at the camera, neutral expression with teeth not visible, no headgear (religious headgear allowed case-by-case with chin, nose, eyes, ears and eyebrows uncovered). Not older than 1 month. Scanned or colour photocopies are NOT accepted; no staple marks.
- 4The decision is taken by the Consulate General of Montenegro in Istanbul (Turkey); processing time depends on the courier transit time between India and Istanbul.
- 5A 'means of support' rule applies — you are considered to have sufficient funds if you hold at least €50 for each day of the requested stay.
- 6The mandatory two-way courier fee (₹5,859) is compulsory because the application physically travels to and from Istanbul.
- 7For Nepalese / Bhutanese citizens applying at the India centre: applications are processed the same way as for Indian nationals; if submitted through an agent, a notarised Power of Attorney plus authorisation from the Montenegro Ministry (arhiva.konzularno@mfa.gov.me) is required.

The Montenegro visa fee is €35 (about ₹3,798) for adults and €17.5 (about ₹1,899) for minor children under 14, paid in INR at the VFS centre by Cash / UPI or Debit/Credit Card. A VFS service charge of ₹2,821 (incl. 9% SGST + 9% CGST) and a MANDATORY two-way courier fee of ₹5,859 apply per applicant — the courier carries the file to and from the Consulate General of Montenegro in Istanbul (Turkey). All fees are non-refundable regardless of the outcome and are subject to change — confirm the current amounts at the VFS Montenegro Visa Application Centre before applying.

The inviting company signs it, on its letterhead, naming you personally, the exact dates, the purpose of the meetings and — crucially — who is paying for what. Officers verify these: a letter with no signatory title, no company registration detail and no reachable phone number is worse than no letter, because it fails a verification call. Your own side matters just as much: a leave sanction or board resolution, your employment or directorship proof, and a travel history that fits the seniority the letter claims for you.
+Can I attend meetings, sign contracts or get paid on this visa?
Meetings, negotiations, conferences, trade fairs and training you attend are normally fine. What is not permitted is gainful employment — being paid by an entity in Montenegro, or doing work that a local would otherwise be hired for, even unpaid in some categories. That line is where business visas get refused and, worse, where they get cancelled at the border. If your trip involves anything close to it, tell us the actual plan and we will tell you which route it needs.

Montenegro currently states Minimum 2–3 weeks (indicative — depends on courier transit between India and Istanbul) for the decision itself. We control the first, which is usually days. The middle depends on slot releases. The third is entirely the mission's and no consultant can shorten it — anyone telling you otherwise is selling something they cannot deliver.
