Quick answer: a Schengen visa rejection usually means the consulate was not satisfied about the purpose and conditions of stay, sufficient means of subsistence, document reliability, travel insurance, route / main-destination logic, or your intention to leave before the visa expires.
Apply to the country that is your real main destination or longest stay — not just the embassy with appointment availability.
Hotel dates should match the route and the country you applied through.
