The L-1 visa is for Indian employees of multinational companies being transferred to a US branch, subsidiary, affiliate, or parent company. Two sub-categories: L-1A (managers/executives, up to 7 years) and L-1B (specialised knowledge, up to 5 years). Employee must have worked for the overseas company for at least 1 year in the last 3 years. No annual cap — available year-round.

All US nonimmigrant visa (MRV) fees are set in USD by the Department of State and paid online in India via usvisascheduling.com. The INR amount depends on exchange rate on payment day. Additional costs: SEVIS fee for F/M/J visas (paid to ICE separately), VFS document delivery charges, photograph, and any USCIS petition fees (for work visas — usually paid by employer). MRV fees are non-refundable regardless of interview outcome. USCIS petition fees (I-129) paid by US employer: base + Fraud + ACWIA + Asylum Program + (optional) Premium Processing $2,805. L-1 Blanket option reduces paperwork for large multinationals.
