Cyprus Tourist Visa (Short-Stay, Category C)
A Cyprus Tourist Visa is a national short-stay visa (Category C) for Indian travellers visiting Cyprus for leisure, sightseeing, family visits, or short trips. Valid up to 90 days within any 6-month period. Important: Cyprus is in the EU but NOT yet a Schengen member — if you already hold a valid multi-entry Schengen visa, you can enter Cyprus without a separate visa. Otherwise, apply via VFS in 14 Indian cities; the High Commission in New Delhi processes everything.

Cyprus — EU member, but NOT yet Schengen
A Cyprus visa is national. It does not unlock Schengen — but a multi-entry Schengen visa unlocks Cyprus.
Cyprus issues its own short-stay (Category C) and long-stay (Type D) visas through the High Commission of the Republic of Cyprus, New Delhi. Indian applicants apply via VFS in 14 cities — every file is forwarded to New Delhi for the final decision.
Already hold a valid multi-entry Schengen visa?
You can enter Cyprus without a separate visa. Single-entry Schengen visas don't qualify — only multi-entry. Confirm validity dates before you fly.

Special Instructions — Read Before Applying
These requirements apply to ALL Cyprus visa types. Violations mean your application will be rejected — read each one carefully.
- 1Cyprus is NOT a Schengen member. A Cyprus visa does NOT permit travel to Schengen countries.
- 2Schengen multi-entry visa holders can enter Cyprus without a separate Cyprus visa — confirm your Schengen visa is multi-entry and still valid.
- 3DO NOT purchase flight tickets before the visa is issued — provide a provisional booking / itinerary instead. The High Commission explicitly warns against pre-purchase.
- 4Bank statement MUST be the original, signed and sealed by the issuing branch, with the branch's telephone numbers visible. Cash-only is NOT accepted as proof of funds.
- 5Employer letter must be DATED within one month of application and addressed to the Cyprus High Commission, not generic.
- 6Visa fees and VFS service charges are NON-REFUNDABLE if your application is refused or withdrawn.
Who Can Apply
- Indian citizens visiting Cyprus for tourism, sightseeing, or short leisure trips
- Travellers booked on group tours, cruises, or independent itineraries to Cyprus
- Visitors planning to combine Cyprus with other Mediterranean destinations
- Indian residents who do NOT already hold a valid multi-entry Schengen visa (Schengen holders can enter Cyprus without applying)
Not eligible under this visa:
- Anyone planning to work, study, or settle in Cyprus (apply for the relevant Long-Stay Type D visa instead)
- Travellers wanting to stay >90 days in any 6-month window (apply for Long-Stay Type D)
- Applicants who already hold a valid multi-entry Schengen visa — you can enter Cyprus directly without a Cyprus visa
Previously Refused?
SPECIAL OFFERYour Cyprus visa refusal isn't the end — it's a fixable situation.
Most refusal letters read like code. We decode the real reason behind your refusal — often different from what the letter says — and rebuild your case with a refusal-specific strategy. Refused applicants pay the same fee as first-time applicants, and we back it with our dedicated refusal-rebuild process.

Schengen Tourist Visa Eligibility Check
Answer 10 quick questions to see your likelihood of approval. This is not a guarantee — final decision is always with the Embassy — but it flags common weak spots so you can address them before applying.
What's the primary purpose of your trip?
How long do you plan to stay?
Have you previously visited any Schengen country?
Have you ever been refused a Schengen (or any country's) visa?
Past refusals must be disclosed — they show up in VIS database across Schengen countries.
Do you have confirmed travel bookings?
Reservations are enough — don't buy tickets until visa approval.
What's your current employment status?
What's your typical 3-month bank balance?
Schengen needs ~₹700/day covered. For a 10-day trip, minimum ₹70,000 stable balance.
How many years of Income Tax Returns (ITR) can you show?
What are your strongest ties to India (return-intent)?
Embassies want evidence you'll come back — not overstay.
Who are you travelling with?
Indicative only — final decision is always with the Embassy.
💡 Pro Tips
- If you already have a valid multi-entry Schengen visa, you do NOT need a Cyprus visa — verify the validity dates and just travel.
- Apply 4–6 weeks before your travel date. The 10–15 working day timeline runs from when the High Commission receives your file (after the VFS forwarding day).
- Keep the bank statement freshly stamped — High Commission has rejected applications where the bank seal looked older than 1 month.
- Provisional flight bookings are accepted (and required) — issuing tickets before visa approval is one of the most common rookie mistakes for Cyprus.
- Multiple-entry visas (up to 5 years) are granted at the High Commission's discretion — strong travel history (Schengen, UK, US visas in the passport) helps massively.
Common Rejection Reasons
- 1.Bank statement is photocopied / unsigned / unsealed by the issuing branch
- 2.Employer letter is older than 1 month or not addressed to the Cyprus High Commission
- 3.Tickets purchased before visa issuance (red flag — High Commission warns against this explicitly)
- 4.Insufficient funds shown in the bank statement vs. duration and itinerary cost
- 5.Vague itinerary without confirmed hotel reservations or dates
- 6.Travel insurance below €30,000 cover or not covering full duration of stay
