Quiz not yet available for this visa type

We're actively building per-visa quizzes. For now, the best way to assess your eligibility for Japan Multiple Entry Visa (Multiple 7) — Spouse or Children of Employment Visa Holder is a free 1-on-1 consultation with our team.

💡 Pro Tips

  • Apply 2–3 weeks before travel — 5 working days is the minimum, but Embassy can extend.
  • Japan has rolled out Multiple-Entry visas for Indian travellers with Japan travel history (Multiple 1-7). If you've been to Japan twice in 3 years, the Multiple visa is much easier to get than a fresh tourist visa.
  • Income Tax Returns (ITR) are always accepted; bank statements are the fallback. Submit both when applying for Multiple entry visas.
  • For Student/Dependent applicants: always include parent/spouse's ITR + consent letter.
  • Photocopies on A4 only — other sizes cause rejection at VFS counter.
  • Japan-side docs (Jyuminhyo, residence card) must be obtained by your family member in Japan. Coordinate early.
  • Gensenchoshuhyo (withholding tax statement) is NOT accepted. Use Certificate of Income/Taxation or Tax Return counterfoil instead.
  • Perfect for annual family visits — multi-entry saves repeat application effort.

Common Rejection Reasons

  • 1.Principal's visa isn't Employment category
  • 2.Gensenchoshuhyo submitted (not accepted — wrong document)
  • 3.Kinship documents missing or unapostilled
  • 4.Residence card copy unclear

Frequently Asked Questions

My spouse is on Long-Term Work visa — is that Employment?+
Yes — Long-Term work visa under Engineer / Specialist in Humanities / Skilled Labor / etc. categories all qualify as 'Employment Visa' for Multiple 7 purposes.
What if spouse is on J-Find or Student visa?+
J-Find, Student, Dependent, etc. do NOT qualify as 'Employment Visa'. Apply for regular Visit visa instead.
Why is Gensenchoshuhyo rejected?+
Gensenchoshuhyo (源泉徴収票) is a monthly tax withholding statement — not sufficient. Embassy wants full Income/Taxation certificate OR counterfoil of final tax return (annual document).
What is Jyuminhyo?+
Certificate of Residence — official Japanese document proving residence address in Japan. Your family member gets it from their municipal office. Exclude 'My Number' + Resident record code fields.
Children apply separately?+
Each child files own application with own passport, photo, form. Minor children need parent signatures on form.
Multi-entry validity?+
Typically 1-3 years. Matches principal's employment visa duration where possible.
