All India applications are decided by the Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, New Delhi (84 Jor Bagh, ND-110003) through VFS Luxembourg centres. The Embassy is the single jurisdiction for India + Bangladesh + Sri Lanka + Maldives. For Long-Stay D Visas (Work / Study / Family Reunification / Researcher / EU Blue Card), the Immigration Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Luxembourg issues an Authorization to Stay (applied for at guichet.public.lu) BEFORE the D Visa — the original letter is required at VFS.
guichet.public.lu for the substantive decision. Once issued, the ORIGINAL Authorization triggers the D Visa at VFS. Field n°31 (Employment) or n°30 (Family Reunification) of the form is mandatory.(1) The Prise en Charge MUST carry the MAEE stamp from inside Luxembourg — sponsor-signed alone is not enough. (2) €0 visa fee for family members of EU/EEA/Swiss citizens under Directive 2004/38/EC (relationship certificate must be apostilled / legalised; VFS service charge still applies). (3) VAYD/ODMV doorstep biometrics available at ₹9,900 solo / ₹7,500 each for 2–10 applicants — useful for cities outside the 11 VFS hubs.

A Luxembourg Business Visa is granted to Indian professionals travelling for business purposes — meetings, contract negotiations, trade fairs, conferences, and visits to Luxembourg partners / suppliers / clients. Valid up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Does not permit gainful professional activity — for paid work, apply for a Long-Stay D Employment Visa with Authorization to Stay. Authorised company representatives can submit on the applicant's behalf for this category.

Visa fees are set by the Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in INR and tied to the EUR / INR exchange rate — they are revised every month-end. All fees and VFS service charges are non-refundable in case of refusal. VFS service charges are inclusive of CGST 9% + SGST 9%. Optional services: SMS Facility ₹400, Premium Lounge ₹3,600, Prime Time Collection ₹800, Prime Time Submission ₹3,500, VAYD/ODMV doorstep biometrics ₹9,900 (solo) or ₹7,500 each (2–10 applicants). Family members of EU/EEA/Swiss citizens applying under Directive 2004/38/EC pay zero visa fee — but the VFS service charge still applies.

Colour, full face, less than 6 months old, non-edited and no-filter. PASTED (not stapled) on the form. Name and surname written on the back.
Machine-readable (handwritten Indian passports issued after 01.04.2010 NOT accepted), issued within last 10 years, valid ≥3 months beyond Schengen departure (≥6 months for Long-Stay D), ≥2 blank pages.
Required only for non-Indian nationals living in India — present residence permit and any work / study authorisation.
Must state the purpose of the visit (complete business programme with planned visits and/or meetings), dates of travel, applicant's name, date of birth and passport number, and who covers travel / accommodation costs.
Confirms applicant's position, length of service, and the business purpose of travel. For self-employed: company-register extract / GST registration / similar.
Not required if the Luxembourg inviting company arranges accommodation — in which case state this in the invitation letter.

Get the form from visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/lux/. Complete by hand or digitally, then date and sign. Paste the 35×45mm photograph on the form (do not staple).
Get supporting documents in order
Passport (machine-readable, ≥10-year validity rule, ≥3 months beyond return, ≥2 blank pages) + financial documents + ITR (last 2 years) + €30,000 Schengen insurance + accommodation + travel reservation + category-specific docs (Prise en Charge / invitation letter / etc.).
Book your VFS appointment online
Schedule at visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/lux/book-an-appointment. Tourist visa: applicant must attend in person — no representatives. Other categories accept authorised representatives or travel agents.
Submit at VFS in person + biometrics
Attend with all originals + copies, pay visa fee + VFS service charge (cash / Visa / Mastercard / RuPay). Biometrics (fingerprints + photo) captured at the centre — re-used for 59 months. Children under 12 are fingerprint-exempt.
Wait for the decision (15 calendar days standard; up to 45)
Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, New Delhi decides. Transit between VFS and Embassy is 1–4 days each way depending on the centre. Files received less than 15 days before travel can be deemed inadmissible and returned unprocessed.
Collect your passport from VFS
Once notified, collect from VFS or use the courier service (₹800 + optional ₹1,200 courier assurance). Verify visa validity dates, entry type, and stay duration before leaving the counter.
