The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) is Thailand's long-validity visa for Indian remote workers, digital nomads, freelancers and foreign talent, as well as people coming for soft-power activities (Muay Thai, Thai cooking, sports, art) or short-term medical treatment (category MT, up to 60 days). It is a 5-year multiple-entry visa that allows a stay of up to 180 days per entry (extendable once). Indian applicants apply through a VFS Global Thailand Visa Application Centre (or the official Thai e-Visa portal where applicable); the Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate decides. It does NOT permit local employment with a Thai company — it is designed for income earned from outside Thailand or for the qualifying activity.

The DTV fee is the Royal Thai Consulate fee in INR (inclusive of 18% GST) per the KB overview. A VFS service charge applies on top, and all fees are non-refundable even if refused or withdrawn. Decide whether you qualify as a remote worker/freelancer (workcation), a soft-power-activity participant, a medical-treatment visitor, or a dependant — each needs different purpose evidence.
Gather purpose evidence
Prepare your employment contract/portfolio (remote work) or the Thai organiser's invitation (activity), plus relationship proof for any dependants.
Prove finances & accommodation
Arrange an original bank-attested 6-month statement showing ≈ 500,000 THB and a hotel/accommodation reservation in your name.
Submit the application
Complete and sign the form, then submit at your jurisdiction's VFS Thailand centre (or the Thai e-Visa portal where applicable) and pay the fees.
Track and collect
Processing is a minimum of 3–5 working days. Track and collect once the Consulate/Embassy decides.
