The Thailand Family / Dependant Visa (Non-Immigrant Category O) is for Indian passport holders joining a spouse, parent or child who is residing or working in Thailand. You apply through a VFS Global Thailand Visa Application Centre, which forwards the file to the Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate-General with jurisdiction over your region; the Consulate decides. It is available as single entry (3 months) or multiple entry (6 months / 1 year), permitting a stay of up to 90 days per entry. (For an Indian married to a Thai citizen, only a marriage registered under the Special Marriage Act or Thai law is accepted — affidavits are not.)

What to gather

Get the sponsor's documents from Thailand
Obtain the cover letter from your family member in Thailand, plus their passport copy (with Thai visa/extension page) and work permit or BOI letter confirming dependant status.
Prove the relationship
Prepare the marriage certificate (spouse) or birth certificate (child) in English; get MEA attestation where required. For Thai-citizen spouses, ensure the marriage is registered under the Special Marriage Act or Thai law.
Prepare finances & accommodation
Arrange an original bank-attested 6-month statement (≈ USD 700/person or USD 1,400/family) and accommodation proof in Thailand.
Submit at the VFS centre
Complete and sign the form and cover letter, submit the full file at your jurisdiction's VFS Thailand centre, and pay the visa fee plus service charge.
Track and collect
Processing is a minimum of 3–5 working days. Track and collect once the Consulate/Embassy decides.
