The Romania Family/Friends Visit Visa (Schengen Type C) is for Indian passport holders visiting relatives or friends who live in Romania. The host provides an invitation and proof of their legal residence; the applicant still has to show their own funds, purpose and ties to India. Romania is not on VFS in India — applications are registered on the e-Visa portal and submitted at the Embassy of Romania in New Delhi.

The Schengen short-stay visa fee is €90 (about ₹10,100 from 27 Aug 2026), charged in INR at the current exchange rate and subject to change without notice. Romania does NOT use VFS Global in India, so there is no standard VFS service charge — instead a consular / e-Visa handling charge applies on top of the visa fee; confirm the exact figure with the Embassy of Romania in New Delhi at the time of application. Children below 6 are exempt from the visa fee; family members of EU/EEA/Swiss citizens exercising free-movement rights may also be exempt. All visa fees and service charges, once paid, are non-refundable regardless of the outcome.
