For an Indian seafarer joining or leaving a vessel in Danish waters, the shipping company is responsible for the stay, the costs and the safe return, and its paperwork is the backbone of the file: contract, vessel details, port and dates. The visa is a single entry tied to that specific contract and covers only the transit period. The Royal Danish Embassy quotes 15 calendar days from receiving a complete file, extendable to 45 in cases referred to the Immigration Service, so book the VFS appointment three to four weeks before the ship's scheduled departure. The fee is €90 plus a VFS charge of ₹2,052 and ₹432 courier outside Delhi.

Embassy fees are set in EUR by the Royal Danish Embassy — the actual INR charged at VFS varies with the daily exchange rate. VFS service and courier fees are fixed in INR. All fees payable in Cash / Card / UPI and are non-refundable regardless of visa outcome. Approximate total for an adult tourist/business visa: €90 + ₹2,484 (~₹10,584 at current exchange rates).
